It’s been way to long! Lot’s to update in this post. And promise to do a better job in 2011 keeping you more regularly informed of all the “Girls of Brazil” happenings.

Model news:

• Congrats to Leisiane Almeida (Miss June, 2010) She was picked up as a featured dancer for one of Brazil’s most popular television shows “FAUSTÃO”
• Congrats to our twin models Alexandra & Marianna for being featured together in Playboy Brasil. The twins have posed multiple times for Girls of Brazil and are featured on the cover of Girls of Brazil Swimsuit 2011 Calendar
• Marina Fagundes is trying to become Miss Brazil and is currently in the running for Miss Santa Catarina, Brazil
• Past “Girls of Brazil” participants Greicy, Alana, and Mahara have all been sponsored by professional soccer teams in Brazil

The “Girls of Brazil” swimsuit calendar project will be featured in the “4 Hour Work Week” blog. This is one of the most popular blogs for men and we’re super excited to be featured there. Look for more on this next week.

We would love to hear from you! Now is the time when we are making our 2010 calendar donations for troops. We are shipping boxes of calendars to every troop we hear from overseas in Iraq & Afghanistan. Why just these two places? Because life sucks there! Unlike other overseas such as Germany or Korea, these two countries have nothing for our troops. And many of our troops still find themselves in combat situations.

We will be arriving to Brazil on December 10. I think I am more excited about shooting swimsuit pics for the Girls of Brazil calendar than any of the previous years. I’ll be adding a few photos in December and a lot during January & February. Look for more pics.

This year we will have a make up artist to help the girls prepare. Checkout the makeup artist! She might be in our next calendar. I took this photo of her last year:

So I still don’t need that but the good news I am looking to take on a partner with the photos this coming you. If you are a talented photographer you just might be the person to help me make beautiful photos for the 2011 swimsuit calendar. A couple of requirements which are surely going to limit applicants:

You must be willing to learn Portuguese (I can provide Rosetta Stone)
You must have a passport and ready to apply for a Brazilian Visa. (This involves applying in person at the Brazilian consulate closest to you. It’s not a quick process and might cost some bucks)

Happy to announce Dayana I have married this past summer. I met Dayana in Florianopolis, Brazil through a friend. We dated for the past year and a half. She is a beautiful person. But the best part is she has a heart of gold. One of the best people I know and I am very happy to call her my wife.

Feeling like we are on top of the world for more reasons then one!

Project founder Jeremiah Thompson and model Dayana Thompson recently spent their weekend selling autographed copies of the 2010 calendar at the Testy Festy event in Rock Creek, Montana.  This world famous biker party helped the couple generate enough calendar sales to donate about 500 more calendars to troops in Afghanistan this coming year.

Last year Girls of Brazil donated 20,000 calendars to troops in Iraq & Afghanistan.  This year we are trying to do another big donation to the troops and this event helped at least in a small way.  Thanks to everyone at the Testy Festy for supporting us.
